March 1995 – Priest and theology professor SIMION RADU passed away.
Studies at the “Andrei Șaguna” normal school of Sibiu, with equivalent
examination at the secondary school and school leaving examination;
higher studies at the “Andreian” Theological Academy of Sibiu (1927 –
1931), graduated at Cernăuți (1935); a doctor’s degree at the University
Theological Institute of Bucharest (1949); graduate of the Faculty of
Philology and Philosophy of the University of Cluj-Sibiu (1944), member
of the teaching staff of some schools and gymnasiums of Codlea – Brașov,
Hațeg, Cristurul Secuiesc, Sighișoara, Sibiu (1931 – 1950); assistant –
systematic section -University Institute of Sibiu (1951 – 1952);
librarian and administrative employee (1955 – 1958), then
spiritual-assistant with the same Institute (1958 – 1969), political
prisoner (1952 – 1953). Works: Gospel and democracy, critic attempt and
social orientation (1954); Christian love and social reality; studies in
“Mitropolia Ardealului” (Metropolitan See of Transylvania) magazine:
Mystery of salvation in the revelation of the Pentecost (1957); On
Christian ecumenism, its importance and achievement in history (1970);
For a Christian thematic of necrologies (1972).
