March 1882 – Priest, Seminary professor, author of didactic manuals
PETRE PARTENIE was born in Șișeștii de Jos, county of Mehedinți. Studies
at “Traian” Secondary School of Turnu Severin (1893 – 1901), then he
attended the courses of the Faculties of Theology and Law of Bucharest.
He has also been professor and director of the Seminary of “Saint
Nicholas” of Râmnicu Vâlcea (1912 – 1926) and of the “Central” Seminary
of Bucharest (1926 – 1940). He has also been president of the “General
Association” of the Romanian Orthodox Clergy” and member of the Church
National College. Works: Metropolitan Anastasie Crimca of Moldova. His
Life and Activity (1907) ; Boyar Drăgușin. Sketches and notes on the
days of trial and victory. 1916-1918 (1923). He published, in
collaboration with Rev. I,F. Popescu, a series of Religion manuals for
the secondary forms; he collaborated with various church periodicals
(“Biserica Ortodoxă Română”, “Luminătorul”) and literary ones (“Ramuri”,
“Drum drept”). He passed away on 9 December 1946, in Râmnicu Vâlcea.
