New Eparchial Assembly of the Archdiocese of Bucharest Met at the Patriarchal Residence

Today, 21 June 2014, the constitutive meeting of the Eparchial Assembly was held at the Patriarchal Residence.

The meeting was preceded by the Divine Liturgy and by the Te Deum service celebrated in the Patriarchal Cathedral.

Then, His Beatitude Patriarchal Daniel opened the meeting: “To start with the meeting we must tell you that this event is very important because it is the result of the elections organised at the constituency level and notified to the Eparchial Centre, so that we have the list of the members elect now. Our today’s task is only one, namely setting up the Eparchial Assembly for four years time. Some of the present members have been in the previous Assembly too, while some other ones are new. It is a well known fact that according to the Statute a member of the Eparchial Assembly can have only two mandates, so that we have some more experienced people here, as well as some other enthusiastic ones willing to bring their contribution and help the Church in her missionary work”, His Beatitude said.

During the meeting, the representatives of the Eparchial Assembly have also been delegated to the Church National Assembly. The members in the Eparchial Council and Consistory, as well as in the Metropolitan Consistory have also been elected.
