To end with the Divine Liturgy celebrated today, 21 May 2015, His Beatitude Daniel, Patriarch of Romania, awarded the winners of the National Contest of mini-projects with missionary philanthropic character entitled \u201cHands stretched out to accomplish the commandments of God<\/em>\u201d as well as the winners of the National Contest of the \u201cOrthodox Icon \u2013 Light of Faith<\/em>\u201d, edition IV.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe thank all those who organised these contests, those who participated in and those awarded prizes. We pray God to give them good health and joy, many blessed years of life, and may they continue to multiply their coins, to cultivate their talent because talent is emphasised through work. We are very glad because the Romanian people continue to practice this art with rather great effervescence.<\/p>\n

We are also very glad because lots of children participated in the national contest \u201cHands stretched out to accomplish the commandments of God\u201d, a contest that engaged many children and young people in learning that the Gospel is not only a beautiful word, but also a good deed for helping our fellow beings\u201d, the Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church said.<\/p>\n

The 29 children winners of the National Contest of mini-projects with missionary philanthropic character entitled \u201cHands stretched out to accomplish the commandments of God\u201d<\/em> were rewarded for their efforts, having been awarded prizes by the Primate of the Romanian Orthodox Church on the podium specially arranged close to the Patriarchal Cathedral.<\/p>\n

The National Contest of mini-projects with missionary philanthropic character entitled \u201cHands stretched out to accomplish the commandments of God\u201d was organised with the blessing of His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel and the approval of the Holy Synod of the Romanian Orthodox Church by the Theological Educational Department of the Romanian Patriarchate, from 15 December 2014 \u2013 21 May 2015.<\/p>\n

The contest was organised for the children, priests and religion teachers involved in the catechetic programme entitled \u201cChrist shared to the children\u201d and designed to educate the children to help their fellow beings in distress. The purpose of the contest was to cultivate the children to help the humans who suffer: old sick people, lonely people, abandoned children or in special situations, poor families etc.<\/p>\n

National Contest the \u201cOrthodox Icon \u2013 Light of Faith\u201d, edition IV<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Today too, after the Divine Liturgy, the merits of the winners of the National Contest the \u201cOrthodox icon \u2013 light of faith, edition IV\u201d were recognised. They were awarded by His Beatitude Daniel, Patriarch of Romania. Thus, the following prizes were awarded at fresco section:<\/p>\n

– Prize I \u2013 Mandici Constantin, county of Suceava, 99 points;<\/p>\n

– Prize II \u2013 Verdes Bogdan Gheorghe, county of Galati, 98 points<\/p>\n

– Prize III \u2013 Lipan Toader, county of Neamt, 97 points; <\/p>\n

– Mention \u2013 Ghinescu Marius Ciprian, county of Iasi, 79 points.<\/p>\n

Three prizes were awarded at mosaic section, as follows:<\/p>\n

– Prize I \u2013 Bozga Laurentiu Ion, county of Valcea, 100 points;<\/p>\n

– Prize II \u2013 Haraga Andrei Bogdan, county of Iasi, 86 points;<\/p>\n

– Prize III \u2013 Ilie Suzana Nicoleta, Bucharest, 71 points.<\/p>\n

The National Contest of the \u201cOrthodox Icon \u2013 Light of Faith\u201d \u2013 edition IV, 2015 was organised with the blessing of His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel, by the Department for Culture and Religious Patrimony \u2013 Centre for Cultural Patrimony of Saint Constantine Brancoveanu and by the Theological \u2013 Educational Department of the Romanian Patriarchate, from 2 February \u2013 21 May 2015.<\/p>\n

On 24 April 2015, the works of the National Contest of the \u201cOrthodox Icon \u2013 Light of Faith\u201d, edition IV were estimated. The commission made up of 5 church painters examined the works of the participants within the two sections \u2013 fresco and mosaic \u2013 and appreciated them according to the following criteria: thematic framing, liturgical hermeneutics, accuracy of colours, and technique of execution.<\/p>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
