Friday, 15 April 2016, His Beatitude Daniel, Patriarch of Romania blessed the shrine with a particle of Saint Hierarch Nectarios from Aegina. The shrine belongs to Izbuc Monastery from Bihor county. The religious service was celebrated in the historical chapel dedicated to Saint George<\/em>, within the Patriarchal Residence.<\/p>\n

His Grace Varlaam Ploie\u015fteanul, Assistant Bishop to the Patriarch, His Grace Ieronim Sinaitul, Assistant Bishop to the Patriarch, Very Rev. Archimandrite Paisie Teodorescu, Patriarchal Vicar, Very Rev. Archimandrite Dionisie Constantin, Patriarchal Counsellor, as well as other members of the Church National Standing Council attended the event.<\/p>\n

His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel underlined the fact that the Romanians have a deep veneration for Saint Hierarch Nectarios.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn Bucharest, we keep the relics of Saint Nectarios at Radu Vod\u0103 Monastery. But now we have the great joy to see that in Transylvania too, special veneration of the saints<\/em>\u2019<\/em> relics, in general, is developed, and mainly of the relics of Saint Hierarch Nectarios from Aegina. We congratulate His Grace Sofronie, Bishop of Oradea, Very Rev. Archimandrite Mihail, abbot of Izbuc Monastery, and we pray Saint Hierarch Nectarios from Aegina to protect the Eparchy of Oradea and especially Izbuc Monastery, an Orthodox monastery in the Western part of the country\u201d, His Beatitude said.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Very Rev. Archimandrite Mihail Tar\u0103u, abbot of Izbuc Monastery and exarch of the monasteries of the Diocese of Oradea, mentioned that the shrine of the relics of Saint Hierarch Nectarios would be laid in the new church of Izbuc Monastery.<\/p>\n

The particle of the relics of Saint Nectarios was offered by a Monastery from Greece.<\/p>\n

The shrine was made at the Workshops of the Romanian Patriarchate seated at Pas\u0103rea Monastery, Ilfov county.<\/p>\n

Izbuc Monastery from C\u0103lug\u0103ri village, C\u0103rpinet commune, is located in a small valley at the foot of Codru-Moma Mountains, on Va\u015fc\u0103u plateau. The founder of the monastery was Bishop Roman Ciorogariu of Oradea (1920 \u2013 1936). The foundation stone of the first church of Izbuc Monastery dedicated to the \u201cHealing Spring\u201d and to the \u201cAscension of the Lord\u201d was laid on 29 May 1930, on de feast of the Ascension of the Lord, by assistant bishop Andrei Magier Cri\u015fanul of the Diocese of Oradea and consecrated on 15 August 1932, at the feast of the \u201cDormition of the Mother of God\u201d.<\/p>\n
