Academic, cultural and spiritual events began at \u201cSaint Andrei Saguna\u201d Faculty of Theology in Sibiu dedicated to the anniversary of 230 years since the establishment of the Orthodox theological education in Sibiu. The manifestations were opened in \u201cMetropolitan Ioan Me\u0163ianu\u201d rotunda of the Faculty of Theology, where His Grace Varlaam Ploie\u015fteanul, Assistant Bishop to the Patriarch, read the congratulatory and blessing message of His Beatitude Daniel, Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church.<\/p>\n

The anniversary event organised in Sibiu began Monday, 16 Monday 2016, at 8.30 hours, with the Divine Liturgy celebrated in the Metropolitan Cathedral by His Grace Visarion, Bishop of Tulcea, together with a group of priests and deacons, members of the teaching staff of the Faculty of Theology. His Eminence Lauren\u0163iu, Metropolitan of Transylvania, His Eminence Calinic, Archbishop of Arge\u015f and Muscel, His Grace Andrei, Bishop of Covasna and Harghita, His Grace Daniil, Bishop locum tenens of the Diocese of Dacia Felix, and His Grace Varlaam Ploie\u015fteanul participated in the Divine Liturgy.<\/p>\n

The book entitled \u201c230 years of Orthodox Theological Education in Sibiu\u201d by Rev. Academician Mircea P\u0103curariu re-edited at \u201cAndreiana\u201d publishing house was also launched. In the end, the photographic and documentary album entitled \u201cVocation and Continuation. Orthodox Theological Education in Sibiu, 230 years of history \u201cin images and icons\u201d was also presented.<\/p>\n
