Tuesday, 17 May 2016, the Village Museum <\/em>of Bucharest marked 80 since its setting up. Various manifestations have been organised for the period 16-22 May 2016 to celebrate this anniversary.<\/p>\n

Today, during the ceremony organised on the occasion of this anniversary, His Grace Timotei Prahoveanul, Assistant Bishop to the Archdiocese of Bucharest, read the message of His Beatitude Daniel, Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church, <\/em>and awarded the homage Diploma and medal of \u201cSaint Hierarch Martyr Anthimos of Iviria\u201d to the leadership of the museum.<\/p>\n

Representatives of the main state institutions and many admirers of the Romanian traditional village attended the event. The institution offered them the Trophy of \u201cVillage Museum \u2013 80 Years\u201d as sign of gratitude for all those who supported the existence and development of the museum.<\/p>\n

Today too, the New Village was inaugurated, a development project of the museum stretching on more than 3 ha.<\/p>\n

The Romanian Village Museum <\/em>was inaugurated on 17 May 1936. The village was brought to Bucharest after 10 years of research in more than 600 localities of Romania. The visionary initiative to bring the eternity of the Romanian village <\/em>to Bucharest belonged to Dimitrie Gusti.<\/p>\n
