The holmily of His Beatitude was appreciated by the Ecumenical Patriarch and characterised as theological.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Your Holiness,<br \/>\nYour Beatitudes,<br \/>\nYour Eminences,<br \/>\nMost reverend participants in this Council,<\/p>\n<p>The Holy and Great Council of the Orthodox Churches is at the same time a rare event, and the beginning of normality, because synodality is a canonical rule of the life of the local Churches, in order to express the unity of Orthodox faith, of sacramental life and of canonical discipline of the One, Holy, Universal (Catholic) and Apostolic Church. If synodality is a canonical rule at local level, it must also be a rule at universal pan-Orthodox level.<\/p>\n<p>Synodality or conciliarity is fulfilled in the sacramental concelebration of the Holy Eucharist, in order to express both the unity of Orthodox faith and the Mystery itself of the communion of the Church with her Head, our Lord Jesus Christ.<\/p>\n<p>The autocephaly of the Orthodox Churches express their administrative and pastoral freedom, while the pan-Orthodox Eucharistic commemoration and pan-Orthodox synodality (conciliarity) express the unity of the entire Orthodoxy.<\/p>\n<p>The pastoral and missionary ministry of the Church must take into account today\u2019s problems and challenges. Nevertheless, the principal goal of the ministry of the Church is the sanctification and salvation of humans, which means to acquire eternal life in the love and light of the Kingdom of the Most Holy Trinity.<\/p>\n<p>In this regard, the Council does not have to formulate new dogmas or new sacred canons, but rather to have an actual pastoral and missionary signification, so as to witness Christ\u2019s love for His Church and for the entire humanity. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth and Communion. If we profess together the true faith, then we receive the joy of communion in the love of the Most Holy Trinity, Whom we celebrate today.<\/p>\n<p>\u2020DANIEL<br \/>\nPatriarch of Romania<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border: none; overflow: hidden;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/video.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2F1611918709033003%2Fvideos%2F1695771737314366%2F&amp;show_text=0&amp;width=400\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Votre Saintet\u00e9,<br \/>\nVos B\u00e9atitude,<br \/>\nVos Eminences,<br \/>\nTr\u00e8s v\u00e9n\u00e9rables participants \u00e0 ce Synode,<\/p>\n<p>Le Saint et Grand Synode des Eglises Orthodoxes est en m\u00eame temps un \u00e9v\u00e9nement rare et le commencement d\u2019une normalit\u00e9, parce que la synodalit\u00e9 est une r\u00e8gle canonique de la vie des Eglises locales, pour exprimer l\u2019unit\u00e9 de la foi orthodoxe, de la vie sacramentelle et de discipline canonique de l\u2019Eglise Une, Sainte, Catholique et Apostolique. Si la synodalit\u00e9 est une norme canonique au niveau local elle doit \u00eatre aussi une norme au niveau panorthodoxe universelle.<\/p>\n<p>La synodalit\u00e9 (ou la conciliarit\u00e9) s\u2019accomplit dans la conc\u00e9l\u00e9bration sacramentelle de la divine Eucharistie, pour exprimer ensemble l\u2019unit\u00e9 de la foi orthodoxe et le myst\u00e8re-m\u00eame de la communion de l\u2019Eglise avec sa T\u00eate, le Seigneur J\u00e9sus Christ.<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019autoc\u00e9phalie des Eglises orthodoxes exprime leur libert\u00e9 administrative et pastorale, alors que la comm\u00e9moration eucharistique panorthodoxe et la synodalit\u00e9 (conciliarit\u00e9) panorthodoxe expriment l\u2019unit\u00e9 de l\u2019Orthodoxie toute enti\u00e8re.<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019activit\u00e9 pastorale et missionnaire de l\u2019Eglise doit tenir compte aujourd\u2019hui des probl\u00e8mes et d\u00e9fis contemporains. Cependant, le but principal de l\u2019\u0153uvre de l\u2019Eglise est la sanctification et le salut de l\u2019humanit\u00e9, c\u2019est\u2013\u00e0-dire l\u2019obtention de la vie \u00e9ternelle dans l\u2019amour et la lumi\u00e8re du Royaume de la Sainte Trinit\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>En ce sens, ce Synode ne doit pas formuler de nouveaux dogmes ou des saints canons nouveaux, mais il doit avoir une signification actuelle pastorale et missionnaire, pour t\u00e9moigner de l\u2019amour du Christ pour son Eglise et pour toute l\u2019humanit\u00e9. L\u2019Esprit Saint est l\u2019Esprit de v\u00e9rit\u00e9 et de la communion.
