The religious service was celebrated on a scene specially arranged in front of the National Cathedral.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The following hierarchs celebrated together with His Beatitude:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>His Grace Makarios, Bishop of Christoupolis \u2013 delegate of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople;<\/li>\n<li>His Eminence Dimitrios, Metropolitan of Irinopolis \u2013 delegate of the Patriarchate of Alexandria;<\/li>\n<li>His Grace Qais, Bishop of Erzurum \u2013 delegate of Patriarchate of Antioch;<\/li>\n<li>His Eminence Lautentiu, Archbishop of Sibiu and Metropolitan of Transylvania;<\/li>\n<li>His Eminence Andrei, Archbishop of Vad, Feleac and Cluj and Metropolitan of Cluj, Maramures and Salaj;<\/li>\n<li>His Eminence Iosif, Romanian Orthodox Archbishop of the Western Europe and Romanian Orthodox Metropolitan of Western and Southern Europe;<\/li>\n<li>His Eminence Casian, Archbishop of Lower Danube;<\/li>\n<li>His Grace Varlaam Ploiesteanul, Assistant Bishop to the Patriarch;<\/li>\n<li>His Grace Ieronim Sinaitul, Assistant Bishop to the Patriarch;<\/li>\n<li>His Grace Timotei Prahoveanul, Assistant Bishop to the Archdiocese of Bucharest;<\/li>\n<li>His Grace Iustin Sigheteanul, Assistant Hierarch to the Romanian Orthodox Diocese of Maramures and Satmar.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><em>God is both merciful and just <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Patriarch of Romania delivered a sermon in which he explained the teaching of the Gospel text to all those present.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>This Gospel shows us that God is both forgiving and just, both merciful and just, <\/em>His Beatitude said.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>If we repent and pray Him to forgive our sins, He is good, merciful and forgiving. But when we disregard His kindness, and only avail of it in a sly and selfish way, and show no mercy and forgiveness to our fellow beings, then God shows us His justice for our improvement and for that of those like us. Thus, God is merciful and just too. He is forgiving, but improving, namely He does not overlook sin, but calls to repentance and improvement. So, the merciful and forgiving God makes the unmerciful and unforgiving man responsible. He does not punish, but improves the humans, makes them responsible when He rebukes them because He wants to bring them to the way of salvation. He shows us how much man spiritually loses if he is not forgiving just like God.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>The Church received from Christ the commandment to forgive the humans\u2019 mistakes. Because she understood the saving and sanctifying value of forgiveness, the Church urges all humans to forgive other fellow beings\u2019 mistakes, <\/em>Patriarch Daniel also said.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>The Church urges us to forgive all the mistakes of our fellow beings. Why that? Because we release, in this way, our souls from the sinful bonds of selfishness and revenge, in order to be communicated with the Holy Eucharist, with the holy, humble, and merciful love of Christ. Thus, when we communicate with the Holy Eucharist we communicate with the forgiving love of Christ. This is why we must forgive the sins or mistakes of those who harmed us. (&#8230;) Forgiveness involves an inner fight against us, a crucifixion of the selfish desire of revenge, of the temptation to answer with evil to evil. <\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Primate of the Romanian Orthodox Church emphasised the fact that the <em>Gospel text of the day urges us to increase the good, not limit or stop it: <\/em><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>While doing this, we spiritually grow and deify ourselves, namely we really become \u201cfollowers of God\u201d. But if the merciful and forgiving love becomes the light of our life, then the relationships among humans are changed for the better. That is to say violence is stopped through forgiveness, hate is put out through forgiveness, evil is replaced with good and the \u201chell\u201d of sinful life is changed into \u201cjoy of heaven\u201d as life lived in the love and holiness of God. <\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In the end of the Divine Liturgy, His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel delivered the closing speech of the Meeting of the Orthodox Youth from all over the world \u2013 2016 for all those present.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Then, the closing festivity of #ITO2016 was held. Iuliana Lia Florea read the solemn closing document of the event, and the insignia of the meeting were handed over to the representatives of the Archdiocese of Iasi, the host of the Meeting of the Orthodox Youth from all over the world next year.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Patriarch of Romania said the journey prayer for the young people who would leave from Bucharest today and blessed them all.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In the end the anthem of #ITO2016 was sung.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<h4 style=\"padding-left: 30px; text-align: Iar st\u0103p\u00e2nul slugii aceleia, milostivindu-se de el, i-a dat drumul \u015fi i-a iertat \u015fi datoria. Dar, ie\u015find, sluga aceea a g\u0103sit pe unul dintre cei ce slujeau cu el \u015fi care-i datora o sut\u0103 de dinari. \u015ei, pun\u00e2nd m\u00e2na pe el, \u00eel sugruma, zic\u00e2nd: Pl\u0103te\u015fte-mi ce e\u015fti dator! Deci, c\u0103z\u00e2nd cel ce era slug\u0103 ca \u015fi el, \u00eel ruga zic\u00e2nd: Mai \u00eeng\u0103duie\u015fte-m\u0103 \u015fi \u00ee\u0163i voi pl\u0103ti! <\/em><em>Iar el nu voia, ci, merg\u00e2nd, l-a aruncat \u00een \u00eenchisoare p\u00e2n\u0103 ce va pl\u0103ti datoria. Iar celelalte slugi, v\u0103z\u00e2nd cele petrecute, s-au \u00eentristat foarte mult \u015fi, venind, au spus st\u0103p\u00e2nului toate cele \u00eent\u00e2mplate. Atunci, chem\u00e2ndu-l st\u0103p\u00e2nul s\u0103u \u00eei zise: Slug\u0103 viclean\u0103, toat\u0103 datoria aceea \u0163i-am iertat-o, fiindc\u0103 m-ai rugat.
