The greatest Romanian Orthodox theologian, Father Dumitru St\u0103niloae, passed away to the Lord on 5 October 1933. Twenty-three years after the death of Fr St\u0103niloae, the dean of the Faculty of Orthodox Theology in Bucharest, Rev. Fr. \u00a0\u0218tefan Buchiu, officiated a memorial service at St Catherine<\/em> University Chapel. Professors and students of the Orthodox Theology Faculty attended the service.<\/p>\n

Fr. \u0218tefan Buchiu addressed the students a word about the life and works of Fr. Dumitru St\u0103niloae, whom he called the Evening Star of Romanian Orthodox Theology.<\/em><\/p>\n

Dean Rev. Buchiu said that by commemorating Father Dumitru St\u0103niloae we light up Romanian Orthodoxy<\/em>. The dean also urged the students to study his works.<\/p>\n

Prof. Rev. Dumitru St\u0103niloae was born in 1903, in Vl\u0103deni, Bra\u0219ov County. He graduated Andrei \u0218aguna Highschool in Bra\u0219ov and the Faculty of Theology in Cernivtsi, where he obtained his doctorate. He taught Dogmatics at the Faculties of Orthodox Theology in Sibiu and Bucharest. He is the author of numerous books, studies and articles on theology and spirituality.<\/p>\n
