Lidia St\u0103niloae, 83, daughter of the renowned Romanian Theologian Rev. Dumitru St\u0103niloae, reposed in the Lord on Friday morning, 17 February 2017. The funeral service will take place Wednesday at noon, at Cernica Monastery.<\/p>\n
Lidia St\u0103niloae was born in Sibiu on 8 October 1933. She was the daughter of the late Father Dumitru St\u0103niloae and his wife Maria. Lidia St\u0103niloae studied atomic physics in Bucharest. \u00a0She got married and had a son, Dumitru Horia Ionescu.<\/p>\n
The daughter of the great Romanian theologian began her literary career in 1970 when she published two volumes of poetry. She translated into Romanian The Notebooks of Malte Laurids Brigge<\/em> by Rainer Maria Rilke, and poems by Hilde Domin.<\/p>\n She immigrated to Germany in 1984, working at Freiburg University.<\/p>\n In 1991, she published her novel The Paradise of the innocents<\/em> and in 2000, the volume The Light of Deed from the Light of the Word<\/em> was published.<\/p>\n In 2013, a year declared by the Holy Synod of the Romanian Orthodox Church as Commemorative Year of Father Dumitru St\u0103niloae, His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel awarded Mrs Lidia St\u0103niloae the Dumitru St\u0103niloae<\/em> Diploma and Medal.<\/p>\n In 2014, His Beatitude awarded Mrs Lidia St\u0103niloae the Cross of Maria Br\u00e2ncoveanu<\/em> Order of the Romanian Patriarchate.<\/p>\n May her memory be eternal!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Lidia St\u0103niloae, 83, daughter of the renowned Romanian Theologian Rev.
