Vasile Cracaoanu, who is one of the persons involved in coordinating the works at the Romanian People\u2019s Salvation Cathedral, said that the preparation for the application of the mosaic icons began as early as May and it involved plastering the wall of the iconostasis.<\/p>\n<p>Following the plastering of the iconostasis, iconographers are responsible for the installation of the mosaic tiles.<\/p>\n<p>The mosaic will cover almost 408 m<sup>2<\/sup> and will be completed by the end of October 2018. The mosaic-covered iconostasis will be blessed at the National Cathedral\u2019s consecration ceremony that will be led by His Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew on November 25.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018There will be a total of 45 icons on four rubrics,\u2019 Vasile Cracaoanu noted.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/FLjTeR9JELY\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The National Cathedral, to be dedicated to the Ascension of Christ and St. Andrew, is popularly known as the People\u2019s Salvation Cathedral. It will be the patriarchal cathedral for the Romanian Orthodox Church and the tallest Orthodox Church in the world (433 ft. high).
