The Orthodox Male Choir Armonia from Romania has won the golden medal at the 10th<\/sup> World Choir Games held in Tshwane, South Africa, on July 4 \u2013 July 14, 2018.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Romanian choir, under the direction of the Rev. Archdeacon Iulian Dumitru, competed in two categories and impressed the judges and the audience.<\/p>\n

Armonia was first in the category C13 Male Choirs and second in C25 Folklore a capella.<\/p>\n

Armonia is the only Romanian Choir participating at this edition of the World Choir Games.<\/p>\n

The Romanian Orthodox Male Choir will also compete Wednesday, July 11, in the C15 Musica sacra a capella section.<\/p>\n

The Orthodox Male Choir Armonia was founded in 2001 at the Tulcea Orthodox Seminary, while in 2004 the choir came under the tutelage of the Tomis Archdiocese.<\/p>\n

The choir members include priests, deacons, and students of the Faculty of Orthodox Theology at Ovidius University in Constanta, Romania.<\/p>\n

The World Choir Games were founded on the Olympic ideals, aiming to peacefully unify singing people and nations connected by song in a fair competition.<\/p>\n

The World Choir Games are an international choir festival taking place every two years on different continents.<\/p>\n

This idea of the World Choir Games is experienced by millions of people throughout the whole world who sing in choirs daily passing on human ideals through song.<\/p>\n

The idea is instrumental in helping people overcome conflicts and offering an example of peace and unity.<\/p>\n

Choirs from all over the world will come together to the World Choir Games, in order to contribute to understanding and peace among nations.<\/p>\n
