{"id":206165,"date":"2018-09-11T13:10:46","date_gmt":"2018-09-11T10:10:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/basilica.ro\/?p=206165"},"modified":"2018-09-11T13:10:46","modified_gmt":"2018-09-11T10:10:46","slug":"patriarch-daniel-blesses-st-elijah-social-centre-in-calimanesti-after-renovation-works","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arhiva.basilica.ro\/en\/patriarch-daniel-blesses-st-elijah-social-centre-in-calimanesti-after-renovation-works\/","title":{"rendered":"Patriarch Daniel blesses St Elijah social centre in Calimanesti after renovation works"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel officiated Friday, September 7, a blessing service for the social and pastoral centre of St Elijah in C\u0103lim\u0103ne\u0219ti-C\u0103ciulata, Valcea County, at the conclusion of the recent renovation works.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The service was attended by the local hierarch, His Eminence Archbishop Varsanufie of Ramnic.<\/p>\n<p>At the end of the blessing service, the Patriarch of Romania recalled that the Centre was founded during the pastorship of Patriarch Justinian Marina and was renovated in 2017.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018It is a useful settlement for pilgrims and all the people who seek recovery here at C\u0103lim\u0103ne\u0219ti,\u2019 the Patriarch said.<\/p>\n<p>His Beatitude also explained why St Elijah is the Centre\u2019s patron saint.<\/p>\n<p>As St Elijah hid himself on the banks of the Cherith, close to the mountains, the same way \u2018the river Olt and the mountains are brought together here and bring glory to God.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>The location of several thermal springs, C\u0103lim\u0103ne\u0219ti-C\u0103ciulata is known as a spa town.<\/p>\n<p>During the 20th century, many hotels and treatment facilities were built in C\u0103ciulata, a northern area of the town which is close to Cozia Monastery.
