{"id":208546,"date":"2018-09-28T16:51:15","date_gmt":"2018-09-28T13:51:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/basilica.ro\/?p=208546"},"modified":"2018-09-28T16:51:15","modified_gmt":"2018-09-28T13:51:15","slug":"remains-of-allegedly-poisoned-to-death-husi-bishop-grigore-leu-exhumed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arhiva.basilica.ro\/en\/remains-of-allegedly-poisoned-to-death-husi-bishop-grigore-leu-exhumed\/","title":{"rendered":"Remains of allegedly poisoned to death Husi Bishop Grigore Leu exhumed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The body of the former Bishop Grigorie Leu of Hu\u0219i was exhumed on Wednesday, Sept. 26, to clarify certain medico-legal aspects by experts in forensic medicine from the Institute for the Investigation of Communist Crimes in Romania (IICMER) and Public prosecutor\u2019s office.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The former Bishop of Husi Grigorie Leu was allegedly poisoned to death during the communist regime in 1949.<\/p>\n<p>Attending the event was the current Bishop of Husi Ignatie Trif who officiated a memorial service for his predecessor.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018It is not difficult to understand, if we look into his biography, that he was a man of verticality, morality and of a capacity to profess the faith as only martyrs had,\u2019 Bishop Ignatie said at Grigorie Leu\u2019s memorial service.<\/p>\n<p>His Grace Bishop Ignatie said that the exhumation process is \u2018a historical chance\u2019 to find the real causes of Bishop Grigorie\u2019s death.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018When we are close to a confessor, we receive something from his own spirit.
