{"id":233405,"date":"2019-04-09T19:51:24","date_gmt":"2019-04-09T16:51:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/basilica.ro\/?p=233405"},"modified":"2019-04-09T19:51:24","modified_gmt":"2019-04-09T16:51:24","slug":"romfilatelia-the-thematic-issue-the-holy-easter-2019","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arhiva.basilica.ro\/en\/romfilatelia-the-thematic-issue-the-holy-easter-2019\/","title":{"rendered":"Romfilatelia: The thematic issue The Holy Easter 2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The thematic issue\u00a0The Holy Easter 2019\u00a0is composed of two postage stamps with a face value of\u00a0Lei 1.50\u00a0each and a perforated souvenir sheet whose stamp has a face value of\u00a0Lei 28.50, Romfilatelia <a href=\"http:\/\/www.romfilatelia.ro\/en\/the-holy-easter-2019-2\/\">reports<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The postage stamps reproduce the images that are found in the\u00a0Miscellany works of church chants, having as authors Mitrofan, the Patriarch of Constantinople (306-314) and St. Gregory of Sinai (1255-1346), respectively\u00a0The Bishop\u2019s Missal of Stephen, the Metropolitan of Wallachia\u00a0(17<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0century), from the patrimony of Library of the Romanian Academy.<\/p>\n<p>The work is a brilliant example for bringing Western elements into miniature art. Taking on foreign elements what corresponded to the Romanian plastic language, in the spirit of his own artistic tradition and vision, the copyist made a masterpiece of the Romanian miniatures.<\/p>\n<p>The postage stamps reproduce the scenes of the\u00a0Crucifixion\u00a0and respectively, the\u00a0Resurrection of Jesus Christ, imagined in drawings made by the writers and illustrators of the pages of the mentioned works.<\/p>\n<p>The perforated souvenir sheet of the issue entirely reproduces the image of the page bearing the number 44 in\u00a0the Bishop\u2019s Missal, being illustrated the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ\u2019s scene.<\/p>\n<p>On the First Day Cover of the issue is represented the ornamental letter\u00a0The Last Supper, and in the lower register are illustrated:\u00a0The Crucifixion Cross,\u00a0The Myrrh-bearing women at the empty tomb, The Resurrection, The Holy Trinity, the second coming of Jesus, the elements being taken over from the work\u00a0the Bishop\u2019s Missal of Stephen, the Metropolitan Bishop of Wallachia\u00a0(17<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0century).<\/p>\n<p>Photography courtesy of Romfilatelia<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The thematic issue\u00a0The Holy Easter 2019\u00a0is composed of two postage stamps with a face value of\u00a0Lei 1.50\u00a0each and a perforated souvenir sheet whose stamp has a face value of\u00a0Lei 28.50, Romfilatelia reports.
