His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel on Thursday welcomed a delegation of the Russian Orthodox Church headed by His Grace Bishop Paramon of Sergiev-Posad, patriarchal vicar and abbot of the Holy Trinity-St Sergius Lavra, at his patriarchal residence in Bucharest.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Patriarch Daniel asked Bishop Paramon to convey his brotherly greetings to Patriarch Kirill.<\/p>\n

\u2018Please send to Patriarch Kirill, our concelebrant brother, brotherly greetings for Pascha and may the Good Lord help us keep the brotherly communion in the joy of Christ\u2019s resurrection,\u2019 Patriarch Daniel said May 9.<\/p>\n

During the meeting, the Romanian Patriarch referred to the Palace of the Patriarchate, which was built by the Romanian state at the beginning of the 20th<\/sup> century on the location of the old Hall of the Assembly of Deputies.<\/p>\n

The Palace became a property of the Romanian Patriarchate in 2010.<\/p>\n

After the meeting, the delegation of the Russian Church was accompanied by the patriarchal auxiliary bishop Varlaam of Ploiesti to visit the Palace of the Patriarchate.<\/p>\n

The Russian delegation visited Romania to attend a memorial service honouring Russian soldiers who died during the Second World War at Pipera Cemetery in Bucharest.<\/p>\n

They also visited landmark churches in Bucharest such as Radu Voda Monastery, St George the New Church, where the relics of Ruler Prince Saint Constantine Brancoveanu are enshrined, and St Spyridon the New Church.<\/p>\n

In the evening, the Russian delegation attended an event held by the Russian Center in Bucharest where a book signed by Patriarch Kirill was launched.<\/p>\n
