Deacon \u0218tefan Mindea, received the Diocesan Cross from the Hu\u0219i Diocese \u2018for the very intense activity carried out for the recovery of fellow people.\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The award was bestowed during a ceremony held on Sunday, July 7, 2019, on the feast of St Kyriake, the patron Saint of the Orthodox Cathedral in Hu\u0219i.<\/p>\n<p>After spending 35 years in the US, where he became one of the most famous neurosurgeons with a specialization in minimally invasive neurosurgery and spinal oncology surgery, \u0218tefan Mindea decided to return to Romania together with his wife and six children.<\/p>\n<p>Today Doctor Mindea lives in Constanta, Romania, where he treats and operates on all sufferers regardless of their social status, and on Sundays he serves in one of the Orthodox churches of this major Romanian port town on the Black Sea.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview last year, Neurosurgeon Mindea referred to the role of faith in his life and pointed out that prayer provides him with security, gives him power, and thus remains anchored in his \u2018steadfast relationship with the Good God\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Photography courtesy of the Hu\u0219i Diocese<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The renowned neurosurgeon and former Professor at Stanford University Medical Center, California, Rev.
