{"id":245403,"date":"2019-07-17T18:22:55","date_gmt":"2019-07-17T15:22:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/basilica.ro\/?p=245403"},"modified":"2019-07-17T18:22:55","modified_gmt":"2019-07-17T15:22:55","slug":"svots-community-celebrates-feast-of-great-prince-vladimir","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arhiva.basilica.ro\/en\/svots-community-celebrates-feast-of-great-prince-vladimir\/","title":{"rendered":"SVOTS community celebrates Feast of Great Prince\u00a0Vladimir"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>On Monday morning, the St. Vladimir\u2019s Seminary community celebrated the feast of the Seminary\u2019s patron,\u00a0Holy and Great Prince Vladimir, Equal of the Apostles.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The celebration of Divine Liturgy was especially blessed by the presence of\u00a0His Beatitude, Metropolitan Tikhon, archbishop of Washington, metropolitan of All America and Canada of the Orthodox Church in America (OCA), and chairman of St. Vladimir\u2019s Seminary.<\/p>\n<p>OCA Chancellor Very Rev. Alexander Rentel, Seminary President Very Rev. Chad Hatfield, and other clergy from among the Seminary\u2019s faculty and student body also participated in the Liturgy, SVOTS <a href=\"https:\/\/www.svots.edu\/headlines\/seminary-community-celebrates-feast-great-prince-vladimir\">reports<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Very Rev. Sergius Halvorsen, assistant professor of homiletics and rhetoric, delivered a powerful homily during the Divine Liturgy on how to view the incredible ministry of St. Vladimir through the lens of our own calling as individual Christians-and how not to grow despondent\u00a0by comparing the fruits of our ministries with those of St. Vladimir or anyone else.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;&#8230;Christian ministry is ultimately not about being great, or wealthy or powerful, or famous,&#8221; Fr.
