During the first ever conference on the mission of presbyteras in the Diocese of Hu\u0219i, His Grace Bishop Ignatie noted that a presbytera is the guardian angel of the priest and of their home.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The conference titled “What does it mean to give yourself as offering? Reflections on the mission of a presbytera\u201d was held by Prof. Dr. Cristina Benga at the Hu\u015fi City Hall on Saturday, Sept. 21, and was attended by the wives of Orthodox priests from the Diocese of Hu\u015fi.<\/p>\n

At the end of the conference, the local bishop Ignatie Trif recalled the example of the presbytera from his home village.<\/p>\n

\u2018She embodied the ideal of what it means to be a priest\u2019s wife.\u2019<\/p>\n

In his speech, His Grace expressed his appreciation and gratitude for the mission carried out by presbyteras.<\/p>\n

\u2018I would like to convey my gratitude for your efforts,\u2019 the bishop said.<\/p>\n

\u2018It is very difficult to maintain a balance between church service and family service. It is a very high consumption, an internal combustion. If the priest is the soul of a parish, the priest\u2019s soul is, of course, his presbytera.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018Where there is a solid family life, with all that pertains to a beautiful, blessed marriage, as God wills, there is also a spiritual life in the parish,\u2019 His Grace noted.<\/p>\n

Bishop Ignatie pointed to the interdependence between the priest\u2019s personal and family life and parish life.<\/p>\n

\u2018Where there is a good state of mind in the priest\u2019s family, this condition is also reflected in the life of the parish.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018I urge priests to rely on your intuition,\u2019 the bishop said addressing the presbyteras, noting that they have \u2018a sensitivity to details.\u2019<\/p>\n

At the end, Bishop Ignatie offered flowers and a copy of Juliana Schmemann\u2019s book \u2018The Joy to serve\u2019 to every presbytera.<\/p>\n
