During a memorial service marking the third anniversary of the repose of Archbishop Justinian Chira, the Bishop of Maramures and Satmar praised his predecessor as a model of wisdom and gentleness.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2018May his words full of wisdom and gentleness, his model of a good shepherd inspire us in our ministry and help us understand that life is experienced with great patience and courage,\u2019 Bishop Justin of Maramures said October 30.<\/p>\n

\u2018He was a bishop-confessor of the true faith and the one who gathered the people in great numbers around the holy altars,\u2019 Bishop Justin added.<\/p>\n

The memorial service was officiated at the tomb of Archbishop Justinian Chira at Rohia Monastery, following the Divine Liturgy.<\/p>\n

Archbishop Justinian reposed in the Lord on 30 October 2016, at the age of 95, after a long cultural and pastoral activity.<\/p>\n

In his message of condolence, His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel called him \u201ca struggling bishop, a dynamic pastor and a devout liturgical servant<\/em>\u201d.<\/p>\n
