{"id":264632,"date":"2019-12-16T15:39:33","date_gmt":"2019-12-16T13:39:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/basilica.ro\/?p=264632"},"modified":"2019-12-16T15:39:33","modified_gmt":"2019-12-16T13:39:33","slug":"metropolitan-ioan-of-banat-unclogs-timisoara-crowded-city-roads","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arhiva.basilica.ro\/en\/metropolitan-ioan-of-banat-unclogs-timisoara-crowded-city-roads\/","title":{"rendered":"Metropolitan Ioan of Banat unclogs Timisoara crowded city roads"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Metropolitan Ioan of Banat last Friday surprised passers-by on a street in Timisoara when he got out of his car and began directing a bus driver who was stuck in traffic.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>His Eminence was travelling with a team of journalists to film a report when he noticed the traffic jam.<\/p>\n<p>After giving instructions to the bus driver, the Metropolitan of Banat continued to clear the road on both directions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is not the first time when at an intersection or somewhere where a traffic accident occurs and when I see that there is no police officer, I get out of the car and start to direct the traffic,&#8221; the Metropolitan told the national television <a href=\"http:\/\/stiri.tvr.ro\/vad-ca-nu-este-un-agent-de-poli--ie--cobor-din-ma--ina---i-incep-sa-dirijez-circula--ia--mitropolitul-banatului--ioan-selejan--i-a-ajutat-pe---oferi-sa-iasa-dintr-un-ambuteiaj_853858_video_205301.html\">TVR<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Metropolitan Ioan considers his gesture a &#8220;citizen&#8217;s duty&#8221;. Moreover, he is known for his frequent and uncommon acts of mercy.
