{"id":269380,"date":"2020-01-23T15:34:29","date_gmt":"2020-01-23T13:34:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/basilica.ro\/?p=269380"},"modified":"2020-01-23T15:34:29","modified_gmt":"2020-01-23T13:34:29","slug":"popauti-monastery-founded-by-st-stephen-the-great-featured-on-new-commemorative-stamp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arhiva.basilica.ro\/en\/popauti-monastery-founded-by-st-stephen-the-great-featured-on-new-commemorative-stamp\/","title":{"rendered":"Pop\u0103u\u021bi Monastery founded by St. Stephen the Great featured on new commemorative stamp"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"os\" data-enum=\"p3\" data-field=\" paragraph\"><strong>A new stamp was introduced into circulation yesterday, January 21, featuring the St. Nicholas Church of Pop\u0103u\u021bi Monastery, built by St. Stephen the Great in 1496.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"os\" data-enum=\"p4\" data-field=\" paragraph\">The stamp is part of a series dedicated to various Romanian cities, with the latest stamps honoring the northern city of Botosani.<\/p>\n<p class=\"os\" data-enum=\"p4\" data-field=\" paragraph\">The stamp was issued by\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.romfilatelia.ro\/en\/romanias-citiesbotosani\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Romfilatelia<\/a>, which, \u201cFor more than 15 years \u2026 has invested the stamp with new meanings of elegance, refinement, and artistry, continuing its mission as a committed promoter of national values and great events.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"os\" data-enum=\"p5\" data-field=\" paragraph\">The stamp has a face value of $0.32 (1.4 leu).<\/p>\n<p class=\"os\" data-enum=\"p7\" data-field=\" paragraph\">\u201cThe exterior, richly decorated with glazed brick belts, with discs that reproduce the zodiac signs, fantastic, heraldic and geometric figures, gives it an attribute of expressive originality.
