{"id":271457,"date":"2020-02-15T13:52:01","date_gmt":"2020-02-15T11:52:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/basilica.ro\/?p=271457"},"modified":"2020-02-15T13:52:01","modified_gmt":"2020-02-15T11:52:01","slug":"the-feast-of-st-theodore-stratelates-in-the-patriarchate-of-alexandria","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arhiva.basilica.ro\/en\/the-feast-of-st-theodore-stratelates-in-the-patriarchate-of-alexandria\/","title":{"rendered":"The Feast of St. Theodore Stratelates in the Patriarchate of Alexandria"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>On Saturday, February 8, 2020, feast of Saint Theodore Stratilates the Great Martyr, Patriarch Theodore II of Alexandria and All Africa <a href=\"http:\/\/www.patriarchateofalexandria.com\/index.php?module=news&amp;action=details&amp;id=1638\">officiated<\/a> at the Divine Liturgy which was held at the Holy Patriarchal Chapel of Saints Theodores.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>During the Liturgy, the African students of the Patriarchal School of \u201cSaint Athanasius,\u201d based in the Holy Patriarchal Monastery of St. Savvas the Sanctified, chanted according to the established order and the Alexandrian typical.<\/p>\n<p>The chapel of the Patriarchal Palace is dedicated to Saint Theodores, where the daily services are held according to the monastic typical. The temple\u2019s iconostasis was transferred from the Church of St. John the Baptist from the historic Greek Kotsikio Hospital of Alexandria, today\u2019s Gamal Abdel Nasser.<\/p>\n<p>At the end of the Divine Liturgy, the Alexandrian Primate presented the sacred icon of all Africans Saints, an icon of excellent style made by young hagiographers from Thessaloniki, which he sanctified.
