{"id":279927,"date":"2020-05-20T16:05:28","date_gmt":"2020-05-20T13:05:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/basilica.ro\/?p=279927"},"modified":"2020-05-20T20:44:09","modified_gmt":"2020-05-20T17:44:09","slug":"moldavias-bishops-express-condolences-on-death-of-archbishop-pimen-portrait-of-ascetic-monk-and-sacrificial-hierarch","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arhiva.basilica.ro\/en\/moldavias-bishops-express-condolences-on-death-of-archbishop-pimen-portrait-of-ascetic-monk-and-sacrificial-hierarch\/","title":{"rendered":"Moldavia\u2019s Bishops express condolences on death of Archbishop Pimen: A portrait of ascetic monk and sacrificial hierarch"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The bishops of the Metropolis of Moldavia and Bukovina expressed \u2018much sorrow\u2019 over the death of the 90-year-old Archbishop Pimen, feeling confident that \u2018we have gained an intercessor in heaven at the Throne of the Most Holy Trinity.\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2018He was dedicated to the point of neglecting himself in the work of supporting the suffering and, in particular, the elderly.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Over the years, he could be seen working with workers on the construction site of the Archdiocese\u2019s nursing home with the same natural attitude that he then had, serving, preaching, and presiding over administrative meetings.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u2018It was the attitude of a man convinced that every work in the Church is important and that we serve Christ the Lord first of all in front of the Holy Altar, and second by bowing to the feet of the most afflicted on earth.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Archbishop Pimen was one of the strong voices of the Church in recent decades,\u2019 reads the message signed by Metropolitan Teofan and four other bishops.<\/p>\n<p>The hierarchs urged everyone to offer prayers so that God may receive Archbishop Pimen\u2019s soul in his unfading Kingdom of Heaven.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018If it is that he committed sins in this life, like any man, we hope that they were wiped out by divine mercy.
