{"id":287635,"date":"2020-08-04T15:01:16","date_gmt":"2020-08-04T12:01:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/basilica.ro\/?p=287635"},"modified":"2020-08-04T15:01:16","modified_gmt":"2020-08-04T12:01:16","slug":"53-of-georgians-feel-their-faith-is-protective-during-the-pandemic","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arhiva.basilica.ro\/en\/53-of-georgians-feel-their-faith-is-protective-during-the-pandemic\/","title":{"rendered":"53% of Georgians feel their faith is protective during the pandemic"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>A <a href=\"https:\/\/orthochristian.com\/133007.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">study<\/a> made at the request of the National Democratic Institute in Georgia has found that 53% of Georgians feel their faith is protective during the coronavirus pandemic.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The study researched the Georgians&#8217; opinion on COVID-19-related issues such as the role of faith and religious leaders, disinformation, attitudes towards EU and NATO.<\/p>\n<p>53% of the participants answered affirmatively and 38% negatively when they were asked if they agreed with the following statement: \u201cFaith protects the faithful of my religion of COVID-19\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Metropolitan Daniel of Chiatura and Sachkhere spoke last week of a \u201cGeorgian miracle\u201d: there was no increase of the infection rate, even though churches remained open to the faithful.<\/p>\n<p>According to the study, 10% of the Georgian faithful participated in the Divine Liturgy on Easter.
