{"id":303317,"date":"2020-12-24T23:50:48","date_gmt":"2020-12-24T21:50:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/basilica.ro\/?p=303317"},"modified":"2020-12-24T23:50:48","modified_gmt":"2020-12-24T21:50:48","slug":"romanian-children-sing-christmas-carols-to-president-of-malta-photos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arhiva.basilica.ro\/en\/romanian-children-sing-christmas-carols-to-president-of-malta-photos\/","title":{"rendered":"Romanian children sing Christmas carols to President of Malta: PHOTOS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The children&#8217;s choir of the Romanian Orthodox parish of Valletta held on Monday, December 21, 2020, a small Christmas carol concert at the presidential palace in Malta.<\/p>\n<p>The children, dressed in folk costumes, and the parish priest George-Alexandru Popescu, were received by the President of the Republic of Malta, George Vella, and his wife, Miriam.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">It was a pleasure for us to hear the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/voices?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#voices<\/a> of 18 <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/children?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#children<\/a> who created a wonderful <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Christmas?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Christmas<\/a> atmosphere when they visited us at San Anton Palace. We appreciated their sweet voices while singing <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Romanian?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Romanian<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Orthodox?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Orthodox<\/a> Christmas <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/carols?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#carols<\/a>. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/mLHW5R3CZv\">pic.twitter.com\/mLHW5R3CZv<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 George Vella (@presidentmt) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/presidentmt\/status\/1341078869516947458?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">December 21, 2020<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Upon arrival, the parish priest addressed the President of Malta likening the warm welcome of the Romanian people to the island of Malta with St. Paul\u2019s warm reception there, on his way to Rome.<\/p>\n<p>The children sang carols in Romanian, and the hosts received a translation of the lyrics.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_303085\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-303085\" style=\"width: 890px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-303085 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/basilica.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/132189863_3606167372837609_7856663820144611555_o-890x593.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"890\" height=\"593\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-303085\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The President of Malta and his wife listening to Romanian Christmas carols.
