The Route was set up at the initiative of the Ministry of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Tourism, a member of a European agreement on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coe.int\/en\/web\/cultural-routes\">cultural routes<\/a> certified by the Council of Europe.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The route is 387 kilometres long and takes less than eight hours.<\/p>\n<p>The Route includes the &#8220;Ascension of the Lord&#8221; Orthodox Cathedral and the &#8220;The Holy Apostles Peter and Paul&#8221; Catholic Church in Bacau, &#8220;Precista&#8221; Princely Church in Bacau, the Dormition of the Theotokos Monastery in Diacone\u0219ti, Aga\u0219, the Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church in Oituz, the Church founded by St Stephen the Great at Borze\u0219ti (One\u0219ti).<\/p>\n<p>The places of worship are surrounded by beautiful natural landscapes.<\/p>\n<p>In Bac\u0103u County there are also unique churches as regards the material from which they are built: St Barbara Church inside T\u00e2rgu Ocna\u2019s Salt Mine is unique in Europe; almost all its furniture is made in mountain\u2019s salt.<\/p>\n<p>The church from Ca\u015fin Monastery resembles Golia Church in Ia\u0219i, while Bogdana Monastery Church resembles the necropolis of St Stephen the Great from Putna.<\/p>\n<p>More details, including contact for accommodation, can be found on <a href=\"https:\/\/turism-bacau.ro\/ruta-ecumenica\/\">Bac\u0103u\u2019s County Service for Promoting Tourism website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Foto credit: Turism Bac\u0103u<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Ecumenical Tourist Cultural Route in Bac\u0103u County includes the most beautiful places of worship, mostly Orthodox, but also Catholic.
