The Holy Light descended at about 1:55 P.M.<\/p>\n<p>After the Fire\u2019s descent, the Patriarch passes the holy gift to the faithful.<\/p>\n<p>The Holy Fire will <a href=\"https:\/\/basilica.ro\/en\/easter-2021-holy-fire-from-jerusalem-to-arrive-at-the-patriarchal-palace-on-holy-saturday\/?swcfpc=1\">arrive<\/a> from Jerusalem on Saturday evening, May 1, 2021, brought by V. Rev. Archimandrite Teofil An\u0103st\u0103soaie, Representative of the Romanian Patriarchate in the Holy Land. The delegates from the eparchies of the Romanian Patriarchate will receive it at the International Airport in Otopeni.<\/p>\n<p>The eparchial centres will distribute the Holy Fire through deaneries to all the parishes.<br \/>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border: none; overflow: hidden;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/video.php?height=314&amp;href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fbasilica.ro%2Fvideos%2F455730162399832%2F&amp;show_text=false&amp;width=560\" width=\"560\" height=\"314\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h1>The descent of the Fire<\/h1>\n<p>Was preceded by a complex ceremony: The doors of the Sepulchre were sealed by with a large wax seal as a sign that its inspection had finished, and in it was found nothing that would allow the Patriarch of Jerusalem to light the fire by any ordinary means.<\/p>\n<p>Shortly before the arrival of Patriarch Theophilos, the seal was removed from the door of the edicule, and a large lampada and thirty-three candles were carried into the tomb. Then the Patriarch entered and began to wait.
