{"id":324503,"date":"2021-07-08T16:42:50","date_gmt":"2021-07-08T13:42:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/basilica.ro\/?p=324503"},"modified":"2021-07-08T16:42:50","modified_gmt":"2021-07-08T13:42:50","slug":"take-a-360-virtual-tour-of-warsaws-orthodox-cathedral","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arhiva.basilica.ro\/en\/take-a-360-virtual-tour-of-warsaws-orthodox-cathedral\/","title":{"rendered":"Take a 360\u00b0 virtual tour of Warsaw&#8217;s Orthodox Cathedral"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"os\" data-enum=\"p2\" data-field=\" paragraph\"><strong>Thanks to a new presentation on the official site of the Polish Orthodox Church, Orthodox faithful from around the world can easily tour the Metropolitan Cathedral of the Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Mary Magdalene in Warsaw.<\/strong><\/p>\n<nav class=\"main_menu move_down\">\n<p class=\"os\" data-enum=\"p3\" data-field=\" paragraph\">The 360\u00b0 virtual tour provides a complete look at both the upper church and the lower chapel of the Passion of Christ.<\/p>\n<p class=\"os\" data-enum=\"p4\" data-field=\" paragraph\">The church, opened in 1869 to serve the needs of the growing Russian community, is one of only two free-standing Orthodox churches in Warsaw that were never destroyed or adapted for other purposes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"os\" data-enum=\"p5\" data-field=\" paragraph\">It serves as the cathedral for the Diocese of Warsaw and is the main cathedral of the Polish Orthodox Church. It was officially entered into the register of monuments in 1965.<\/p>\n<\/nav>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/wirtualnastrefasztuki.pl\/wp-content\/panoramy\/orthodox\/katedra-metropolitalna-warszawa.html\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The capital of Poland has an additional Orthodox cathedral, &#8220;Hagia Sophia&#8221;, under construction since 2015. It is 22 meters high and is built according to the plan of the Basilica of Hagia Sophia in Constantinople.
