Converted to Orthodoxy in 1990, a French octogenarian received the monastic tonsure at V\u0103ratic Monastery after fifteen years of preparation.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Under the mantle of the Abbess Iosefina Giosanu, Fran\u00e7oise D\u00e9touche received the name of Saint Radegund (+587), a Thuringian princess and Frankish queen, who founded a monastery at Poitiers, who is revered as a Saint by both Catholics and Orthodox.<\/p>\n

The ceremony was officiated at the main church of V\u0103ratic Monastery by His Grace Assistant Bishop Nichifor of Boto\u0219ani on the feast of Saint Andrew the Apostle.<\/p>\n

In his speech, Bishop Nichifor compared the monastic habit with an armour fully equipped for the spiritual battle.<\/p>\n

Spouses Guy and Francoise D\u00e9touche converted to Orthodoxy in 1990. Their constant and consistent relationship with His Eminence Archbishop Ioachim of Roman and Bac\u0103u, since the years of his studies at the Saint Serge Institute in Paris, as well as the discovery of the authentic Christian lifestyle made the French couple leave the West behind for a peaceful and serene life near V\u0103ratic Monastery.<\/p>\n

In 2016, Guy D\u00e9touche reposed in the Lord.<\/p>\n
