On Monday, His Eminence Metropolitan Teofan of Moldavia and Bukovina visited two centres for children with disabilities belonging to the General Directorate of Social Assistance and Child Protection (DGASPC) \u2013 Neam\u021b.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Metropolitan visited the Recovery Center for Children with Disabilities “Sancta Maria” and the Day Recovery Center for Children with Disabilities (CRZCD) in Piatra Neam\u021b.<\/p>\n

The first institution is a residential centre for children, while the second offers recovery services for institutionalized children and those in the community.<\/p>\n

The Metropolitan, accompanied by Rev. Dean Valentin Tofan, was greeted by the leadership of DGASPC Neam\u021b, Sorin Bra\u0219oveanu, the public administrator of Neam\u021b County, and the managers of the centres for children and adults in the county.<\/p>\n

His Eminence Metropolitan Teofan visited the pavilions where children with disabilities live, the therapy and recovery rooms and talked with the parents of the children.<\/p>\n

The Metropolitan of Moldavia and Bukovina joined the creative workshops for a few minutes and appreciated the patience and dedication of the staff.<\/p>\n

At the end of the meeting, Metropolitan Teofan offered the children symbolic gifts and expressed his desire to see other centres in Neam\u021b County.<\/p>\n

“Today, the DGASPC Neam\u021b centres for children with disabilities received light, gentleness and appreciation,” said Mirela Negru\u0219, Deputy General Director of Child Protection DGASPC Neam\u021b. “His mere presence enlightened the souls of children and parents, giving them all hope and faith,” she added, referring to the hierarch’s visit on May 23.<\/p>\n
