The protopsaltis of the Patriarchal Cathedral in Bucharest asked his Facebook followers to remember his family in prayer as they were waiting for confirmation of a difficult diagnosis for Irene, the youngest of the family\u2019s children.<\/strong><\/p>\n

On May 18, Archdeacon Mihail Buc\u0103 announced<\/a> that the little girl had been confirmed with acute myeloblastic leukaemia, and the first cytostatic treatment was scheduled for May 19.<\/p>\n

\u201cThank you very much for your prayers and your attachment to Irene Ecaterina. The diagnosis is difficult to digest, but we thank the Lord for the test, and we pray that He will also help us pass this trial, and Irene will run through the park as a fulfilled child!\u201d Archdeacon Mihail Buc\u0103 wrote on Facebook. \u201cMay the Lord help you, and I urge you to rejoice with your loved ones!\u201d<\/p>\n

A few days later, he wrote:<\/p>\n

\u201cThe diagnosis given by the doctors of the Fundeni Institute to our daughter does not disarm us, because they also told us that the treatment can restore Irene as she was before. Our strength is the Lord Jesus Christ, the Saviour and Saviour of the world. But we know that you are also our strength.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Irene also has Down syndrome. In order for her to receive state-of-the-art medical care, the Archdeacon asked for help. Those who wish can donate to three accounts opened to provide the girl with the best treatment.<\/p>\n

Archdeacon Mihail Buc\u0103 has been serving at the Patriarchal Cathedral since 1997. He is the founder and conductor of the renowned Tronos Byzantine Choir of the Romanian Patriarchate. He has five children with his wife, Daniela: Nicolae, Maria, Iustin, Anastasia and little Irene.<\/p>\n

The girl’s last name does not coincide with that of her parents.<\/p>\n
