A family of five from the county of Bac\u0103u, Romania, is helped<\/a> by the local branch of the Romanian Christian Orthodox Students’ Association (ASCOR) to rebuild their home destroyed by fire.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Orthodox students teamed with the Social-philanthropic Sector of the Archdiocese of Roman and Bac\u0103u to launch a fundraising and support campaign for the parents and their three children.<\/p>\n

On the night of September 17 to 18, the Negru family from the village of Str\u0103minoasa (Plopana, in Bac\u0103u county) lost their assets and household animals in a fire.<\/p>\n

The work of a lifetime was destroyed in a blink of an eye. The experts are still researching the causes.<\/p>\n

The three children of the family, two-year-old Matei, four-year-old Miruna and six-year-old Maya were saved from the fire, but their grandmother was hospitalised.<\/p>\n

The family is close to the Church and hard-working, but also lost in the fire the food they painstakingly gathered for winter. At the moment they live with a relative.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want this family to have a new home. Any help is welcome and we want to help them get over this burden of theirs as quickly as possible,\u201d representatives of the student association said, adding that they especially want to give a sense of hope to the suffering children of the family.<\/p>\n

In addition to funds, the Church and students are also looking for electricians, plumbers, and any volunteers who can help build the house.<\/p>\n

Food and clothing donations and willing volunteers already began to arrive this week.<\/p>\n
