The National Bank of Romania (BNR) has issued<\/a> gold and silver coins to mark the Centennial of the Constitution of Greater Romania, which was adopted in 1923 by King Ferdinand I.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The obverse of the gold coin features the dome of the palace of the Assembly of Deputies in Bucharest during the interwar period, now functioning as the Patriarchal Palace. The inscription \u201cRomania\u201d in an arc, the face value \u201c500 Lei\u201d, Romania\u2019s coat of arms and the year of issue \u201c2023\u201d are also featured.<\/p>\n

The silver coin features the same elements except for the face value of \u201c10 lei\u201d.<\/p>\n

The reverse of both gold and silver coins feature the portraits and names of King Ferdinand I and Ion I. C. Bratianu, as well as the inscriptions \u201cAdoptarea Constitutiei Romaniei Mari \u2013 100 ani\u201d (Adoption of the Constitution of Greater Romania \u2013 100 years) and the year \u201c1923.\u201d<\/p>\n

The gold and silver coins, housed in transparent plastic capsules, are accompanied by leaflets featuring a presentation of the numismatic issue and certificates of authenticity in Romanian, English and French.<\/p>\n

Each certificate of authenticity bears the signatures of the Governor and the Chief Cashier of the National Bank of Romania.<\/p>\n

The maximum mintage of the gold coin is 1,000 coins, and the maximum mintage of the silver coin is 5,000 coins.<\/p>\n

The selling price for the gold coin, including the leaflet and the certificate of authenticity, is lei 14,500.00, VAT excluded, and the selling price for the silver coin, including the leaflet and the certificate of authenticity, is RON 460.00, VAT excluded.<\/p>\n

The gold and silver coins dedicated to 100 years since the adoption of the Constitution of Greater Romania are legal tender on the territory of Romania.<\/p>\n

The coins will be circulated for numismatic purposes through the National Bank of Romania regional branches in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Constan\u021ba, Craiova, Ia\u0219i and Timi\u0219oara.<\/p>\n
