March 1921 – Art historian and scientific researcher CORNELIA PILLAT <\/p>\n
was born in Bucharest. After the secondary school studies at “Queen <\/p>\n
Maria” Secondary School, she attended the courses of the Faculty of Art <\/p>\n
History and of the Faculty of Philology of Bucharest. She studied <\/p>\n
documents at the Institute of Art History (1955 – 1958), then museum <\/p>\n
guide with the Library of the Romanian Academy (1958 – 1965). After Dinu<\/p>\n
Pillat was arrested in March 1959, she had to divorce formally, because<\/p>\n
she could no longer keep her job if she had the name of Pillat. After <\/p>\n
her husband came back from prison, in the summer of 1964, she was <\/p>\n
received again at the Institute of Art History, where she worked as <\/p>\n
researcher from 1965 till 1975, when she was transferred to the <\/p>\n
Department of Historical Monuments. After the death of her husband <\/p>\n
(1975), Cornelia Pillat dedicated herself to publishing the writings of <\/p>\n
Dinu Pillat, as well as to the publication of the three editions of the <\/p>\n
work of poet Ion Pillat (from 1983 till 2004). <\/p>\n
