This afternoon, at 17.00 hours, the proceedings of the International Theological Congress on the theme of “Saints Emperors Constantine and Helen – promoters of the religious freedom and supporters of the Church”<\/em> were resumed. In the first part of the day, the second session of communications was held at the Romanian Academy. <\/p>\n

The presentations at the Patriarchate Palace were held within several sessions held in parallel, in different locations of the Patriarchate Palace. <\/p>\n

The following persons delivered lectures: Dr. Sergey Torbatov, Associated Professor, National Institute of Archaeology and Museums – Bulgarian Academy of Sciences: Emperor Constantine I and decay of paganism in Thracia Diocese: archaeological evidences<\/em>; Rev. Lecturer Dr. Ionu\u021b Holubeanu, Faculty of History, University of Bucharest – Roman presence in the North of the River Danube in the 4th century<\/em>; Rev. Prof. Dr. Emanoil B\u0103bu\u0219, Faculty of Orthodox Theology of Patriarch Justinian, University of Bucharest – Poli-semantics of the Constantinopolitan public space (324 – 337)<\/em>; Rev. Prof. Dr. Constantin P\u0103tuleanu, Faculty of Orthodox Theology of Patriarch Justinian, University of Bucharest, Religious freedom in a changing world – from martyrdom to tolerance and religious freedom<\/em>; Virgil Lungu and Constantin Chera, Museum of National History and Archaeology – Constan\u021ba: Christianity in Scythia Minor before Constantine the Great (3rd century) in the light of the archaeological discoveries<\/em>; Rev. Prof. Dr. Ioan Vasile Leb, Faculty of Orthodox Theology, University of Babe\u0219-Bolyai of Cluj-Napoca – Contemporary or later sources on the personality and religious, political, and town work of Emperor Constantine the Great<\/em>; Scholar \u0218tefan Vasili\u021b\u0103, Faculty of History, University of Bucharest – Christian symbols on the coins of Constantine the Great<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The Congress dedicated to the Saints Emperors continues till 24 May 2013.<\/p>\n
