4 August 1807 – Pedagogue and church painter CONSTANTIN LECCA was born in Bra\u0219ov city. Gymnasium studies at Bra\u0219ov, then painting in Buda and Vienna. Drawing and calligraphy teacher at the Central School in Craiova (1833 – 1848). He painted the churches of “Saint Elijah” and “Madona Dudu” of Craiova. He took refuge to Bra\u0219ov during the Revolution of 1848, then settled in Bucharest, where he was drawing and calligraphy teacher at “Saint Sava” College (1851 – 1859), and then dedicated himself only to painting. He painted the icons in the church of “Saint Nicholas” in Bra\u0219ov-Schei and of the iconostasis of the church of “Resurrection of the Lord” in Sebe\u0219, county of Alba. He painted several churches of Bucharest together with Mi\u0219u Popp and Barcu St\u0103nescu: Curtea Veche, Saint Ecaterina, Saint George the New, R\u0103zvan Vod\u0103, Radu Vod\u0103.
