The Vesper and Litany services were celebrated in the new church. His Beatitude spoke about the life and wonders of Saint Parascheva.

“Saint Pious Parascheva is known all over the Orthodox world, and especially in the North of Greece, in Bulgaria and in Romania. Saint Pious Parascheva is called much useful. Her akatistos is different from those of the other saints because it does not speak about her life, neither in condacs and icoses, but about her charity, her help and mercy for those who ask for her help, so that she was called much useful. Saint Pious Parascheva is loved by the people first of all because she helped every family and person who proved devotion to her and prayed to her for help” His Beatitude said.

The parish priest received the diploma of honour of Saints Emperors Constantine and Helen on behalf of His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel. His Beatitude has also offered several books to the church.

“It was a blessed night and a special gift. We think that this gift comes from Saint Pious Parascheva, much useful because it is 10 years since we consecrated the small church and we have received many gifts from the saint ever since. I underline the fact that the first vestment that covered the relics of Saint Parascheva for quite a long time was given to our church thanks to Your Beatitude when you were Metropolitan of Moldova and Bucovina, and we have received gifts from the saint ever since. We hope you will be here, with us, next year too to consecrate the new church and then to mobilize ourselves to build the living Church of talking bricks as Kyril of Alexandria says”, declared parish priest Radu Ilinoiu for Trinitas TV.

At present, the new church dedicated to Saints Martyrs Brancoveans is being painted.

The parish of Saint Friday of Pajura district of Bucharest celebrates its saint patron.
