The working sessions began on 6 March 2014 with the celebration of a Te Deum service, in the church of Saint George in Phanar district of Istanbul (Constantinople). The Synaxis was opened by His Holiness Bartholomew, Ecumenical Patriarch, who emphasised the need to organise meetings with the Primates of the Orthodox Churches in order to confess together the unity of faith and meet the issues of the contemporary society.<\/p>\n<p> The second day of the Synaxis of the Primates of the Orthodox Churches is taking place these days in the old city of Constantinople and it began yesterday morning when the Churches delegates met in plenary session in the church Saint Great Martyr George at the seat of the Ecumenical Patriarchate. Here the participants continued the session deciding on various aspects related to the preparation of the future Pan-Orthodox Synod.<\/p>\n<p> The delegates of each Church took the floor and made suggestions related to the preparation, organisation and good development of the Pan-Orthodox Synod. Yesterday evening, the Primates of the Orthodox Churches participated in the Annunciation Akathistos service which took place in the church of Saints Michael and Gabriel, the Archangels, on the left bank of the Bosporus. Yesterday evening service was celebrated by His Beatitude Teodor II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa.<\/p>\n<p> The session continued today too, on the third day, at the church Saint Great Martyr George of Istanbul (Constantinople), where concrete issues concerning the Pan-Orthodox meeting were discussed and approved.<\/p>\n<p> This afternoon, His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel and the delegations of the Orthodox Churches visited the <em>Healing Spring<\/em> Monastery of Istanbul and brought homage in the cemetery of the Patriarchs who held the throne of the Ecumenical Patriarchate.<\/p>\n<p> His Beatitude has also evoked the personalities of the Patriarchs who supported the initiative of our Church to get Autocephaly and her raising to the rank of Patriarchate. Tonight the working session will be resumed and all the church delegations will sign a document comprising the conclusions of the Synaxis of Constantinople.<\/p>\n<p> 13 delegations of the Orthodox Autocephalous Churches participate in the Synaxis of the Primates of the Orthodox Churches.
