12 March 1927 \u2013 Bishop IOACHIM MARES was born in M\u0103rgire\u0219ti, county of Bac\u0103u (baptized Ioan). Studies at the Theological Seminary of “Saint George\u201d of Roman (graduated in 1946), at the Faculty of Theology of Suceava (1946 \u2013 1948) and at the University Theological Institute of Cluj (1948 \u2013 1950). Priest for the parishes of Damiene\u0219ti, county of Bac\u0103u, Leorda-Comanesti, county of Bac\u0103u (1962 \u2013 1972), “St. Nicholas\u201d \u2013 Bac\u0103u (1972-1978; deanery secretary at Moine\u0219ti (1957-1967), president of the Eparchial Consistory of the Diocese of Roman and Hu\u0219i (1972 – 1978), administrative vicar to this eparchy (1978-1985), then assistant hierarch, with the name of “Vasluianul\u201d, for the same eparchy (ordained and installed on 24 November 1985). On 4 July 1996, he is elected Bishop of Hu\u0219i, installed on 15 September 1996; he initiated big restoration works at the Eparchial Centre, founded a monastery in Hu\u0219i and consecrated tens of churches.<\/p>\n
Works. He wrote the Monographs of the churches of St. Nicholas of Bac\u0103u (1983) and of M\u0103rgine\u0219ti (1988), various articles with Bible and historical character in “Mitropolia Moldovei si Sucevei\u201d and the books Chronicle of the Eparchy of Roman (since 19189) and Chronicle of the Diocese of Hu\u0219i (since 1996), whose printing he coordinated.
