April 1937 \u2013 Bishop STROIA IOAN passed away in Alba Iulia. He was born<\/p>\n
on 20 January 1865, in F\u00e2nt\u00e2nele (Cacova), county of Sibiu.<\/p>\n

and at the “Andrei \u0218aguna\u201d Gymnasium of Bra\u0219ov. Higher studies at the<\/p>\n
Theological Institute of Sibiu (1887 \u2013 1890): studies of Pedagogy,<\/p>\n
History and Geography (1890 \u2013 1893) at the Universities of Jena and<\/p>\n
Budapest (only one semester), with a doctor\u2019s degree in Jena in 1893.<\/p>\n
Professor (1894 \u2013 1901) at the Theological \u2013 Pedagogical Institute of<\/p>\n
Sibiu; priest and archpriest of S\u0103li\u0219te (1901 \u2013 1908), then at Sibiu<\/p>\n
(1908 \u2013 1919), school inspector of S\u0103li\u0219te (1901 \u2013 1908), then in Sibiu;<\/p>\n
school inspector of the county of Sibiu 81919 \u2013 1922), regional<\/p>\n
director of education for Sibiu district (1922 \u2013 1923); metropolitan<\/p>\n
counsellor in Sibiu (1923 \u2013 1925). On 20 May he was appointed “Bishop of<\/p>\n
the Army\u201d, seated in Alba Iulia, where he served till his death.<\/p>\n
