April 1875 \u2013 Historian priest GHEORGHE CIUHANDU was born in Rosia,<\/p>\n
county of Bihor. Gymnasium studies in Beius, theological studies in<\/p>\n
Arad, then at the Faculty of Theology of Cernauti, where he was awarded<\/p>\n
the doctor\u2019s degree (1905). Cultural counsellor at the Diocese of Arad<\/p>\n
(1905 \u2013 1938), president of the Orthodox Clergy Association of “Andrei<\/p>\n
Saguna\u201d of Transylvania (1922), member of honour of the Romanian Academy<\/p>\n
(30 May 1946). Concerned with the history of the church and cultural<\/p>\n
life in Arad and neighbourhood, with the Greek-Catholics\u2019 proselyte<\/p>\n
activity in the area. He passed away on 29 April 1947, in Vata de Jos,<\/p>\n
