May 1879 \u2013 MOISE BALEA, missionary priest in the United States was born<\/p>\n
in C\u0103rpini\u0219, county of Alba. Secondary school studies, then at the<\/p>\n
Theological Institute of Sibiu (1902 \u2013 1905). Ordained in Sibiu, on 18<\/p>\n
October 1905 and sent by the Archdiocese of Sibiu as missionary priest<\/p>\n
in the U.S.A., first to Cleveland-Ohio parish. He set up 15 Romanian<\/p>\n
Orthodox parishes in Youngstown, Indiana Harbour, Phuladeplphia, St.<\/p>\n
Paul, Sharon, Canton, Warren, Alliance, Akron, Ellwood City etc., some<\/p>\n
of them with their own churches, as well as the “America\u201d newspaper<\/p>\n
(1906), in Cleveland, with uninterrupted publication till today. After<\/p>\n
1929, he worked at a locomotive factory in Philadelphia, PA, and after<\/p>\n
1938 at Ford Company in Detroit. He died in 1961, and was buried at<\/p>\n
“Vatra Rom\u00e2neasc\u0103\u201d cemetery, having been considered a true “founder\u201d of<\/p>\n
the first Romanian Orthodox parishes in the American continent. He<\/p>\n
