{"id":95743,"date":"2014-05-19T22:19:18","date_gmt":"2014-05-19T19:19:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/basilica.ro\/?p=95743"},"modified":"2016-03-25T21:19:39","modified_gmt":"2016-03-25T19:19:39","slug":"resurrection-joy-vocal-symphonic-concert-2nd-edition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arhiva.basilica.ro\/en\/resurrection-joy-vocal-symphonic-concert-2nd-edition\/","title":{"rendered":"Resurrection Joy Vocal Symphonic Concert &#8211; 2nd Edition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> Monday, 19 May 2014, 19.00 hours, the &#8220;Resurrection Joy\u201d vocal-symphonic concert took place at the Romanian Atheneum, in the presence of His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel.<\/p>\n<p> To start with, the Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church delivered a speech entitled <strong><em>Lady Maria Brancoveanu \u2013 a burning icon lamp of the Romanian nation<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p> The Patriarch of Romania awarded several distinctions to emphasise the activity of some Christian women who distinguished themselves in various fields. Thus, <em>Maria Brancoveanu Cross<\/em> order was awarded to Ms Lidia Staniloae, daughter of the greatest Orthodox theologian of the 20th century, continuer of the missionary work of Father Staniloae, through the books she publishes, through the memories she always mentions about her father, as well as through her constant presence in the European cultural space.<\/p>\n<p> Maria Brancoveanu diploma was awarded to Mrs Niculina Bratu, paediatric surgeon at Marie S. Curie hospital. She continues the mission of great professor Alexandru Pesamosca. She operated over 15,000 children, dedicating her life to the salvation of her little patients. She is a true moneyless doctor, inspired by the faith in God and love for her fellow beings.<\/p>\n<p> Maria Brancoveanu diploma was awarded to stavrofor nun Eufimia Popa, abbess of Tiganesti Monastery, county of Ilfov. She has felt the monastic vocation ever since she was a teenager. Since she became abbess of Tiganesti Monastery, she has been concerned with the restoration of the church and strengthening of the monastic community, always twining work with prayer, having been a model nun for the generation she belongs to.<\/p>\n<p> Maria Brancoveanu diploma has also been awarded to Mrs Mioara Grigore, religion teacher and mother of five children. She has recently learned she suffered from cancer in advanced phase. This terrible experience made the basis of the book &#8220;Cancer, my love\u201d in which Mrs Grigore calmly explains how she understands her disease, with much hope and faith, and great love for her five children. Her attitude to her disease has become a model for those in distress.<\/p>\n<p> &#8220;Accoustic\u201d chorus and the metropolitan orchestra have also performed on the stage of the Romanian Atheneum, conducted by Daniel Jinga.<\/p>\n<p> The repertoire was the following:<\/p>\n<p><em>Vigil <\/em>(by de Nicolae Lungu); soloist &#8211; Iordache BASALIC;<\/p>\n<p><em>Mother<\/em> (by I. (vocal symphonic arrangement); soloist &#8211; Irina IORD\u00c4CHESCU;<\/p>\n<p><em>Innegiamo air from &#8220;Cavalleria rusticana\u201d<\/em> (by Pietro Mascagni); soloist &#8211; Irina Iord\u0103chescu.<\/p>\n<p> On this occasion, the participants could watch a short documentary of the Films National Archives showing the ceremony of the re-burial of the remains of the martyr prince Constantine Brancoveanu in 1934.<\/p>\n<p><em>Resurrection Joy<\/em> concert was organised by the Romanian Patriarchate, district 1 city hall, and parish of &#8220;Saint Nicholas\u201d \u2013 One Day of Bucharest.<\/p>\n<p> The event is part of the manifestations dedicated in 2014 to the Solemn Year of the Brancovean Saints Martys in the Romanian Patriarchate, commemorating 300 years since their martyr death (1714 \u2013 2014).<\/p>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Monday, 19 May 2014, 19.00 hours, the &#8220;Resurrection Joy\u201d vocal-symphonic concert took place at the Romanian Atheneum, in the presence of His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel.
