11 June 1903 \u2013 NICOLAE BALCA, deacon and theology professor was born in Tohanu Nou, county of Bra\u0219ov. Studies at the Normal School of “Andrei \u0218aguna\u201d of Sibiu, and at the theoretic secondary school with final examination in private (1925). High studies at the “Andean\u201d Theological Academy of Sibiu (1925-1929) and Religious Philosophy, Theology and Pedagogy at the University of Jena (1930 \u2013 1935); doctor in Philosophy at Jena (1935, equated at the University of Cluj); Pedagogy professor at the Normal School of “Andrei \u0218aguna\u201d of Sibiu (1935 \u2013 1947); lecturer at the Faculty of Theology of Bucharest (1947-1948 and 1952-1970) and at the University Theological Institute of Cluj (1948-1952), professor at the Theological Institute of Bucharest for Homiletics and Catechetical Teaching (1952-1970); participant in many international conferences in Germany and Austria; deacon (1934), stavrofor archdeacon (1952).
