11 June 1831 \u2013 Priest VARTOLOMEU BAIULESCU, with historical and ecumenical preoccupation was born in Z\u00e2me\u0219ti, county of Bra\u0219ov. Studies at the Roman-Catholic Gymnasium of Bra\u0219ov (1845 \u2013 1849) and at the Clerical School of Sibiu (1849 \u2013 1850), teacher of the Orthodox students at the schools of the Saxons of Transylvania (1864 \u2013 1886), teacher at the Superior School of trade and at the Real School (1869 \u2013 1898), teacher at the Gymnasium of “Andrei \u0218aguna\u201d (1877 \u2013 1898), all the three of them in Bra\u0219ov, schools supervised by the Church. He built the church of the “Falling Asleep\u201d and the parochial house in Bra\u0219ov-Cetate (1895-1896) by his own efforts. He wrote “The Monograph of the Parish of the Holy Falling Asleep\u201d of Bra\u0219ov \u2013 Cetate (1898) and a series of economical articles in the Romanian periodicals of the time. He unfolded a substantial activity for the emancipation of the Romanian in Bra\u0219ov, especially of the craftsmen; he founded the “Association for supporting the Romanian craftsmen, pupils and apprentices\u201d, having been its first president (1870 \u2013 1884). He printed with his own expense the book “The Romanian Craftsman, magazine of teaching for all the craftsmen and lovers of this job\u201d (1886 \u2013 1889), the first one with this profile; he set up the Association of credit and savings of the “Romanian Craftsman\u201d (1887-1894), always militating for promoting craftsmanship with the Romanians.
