This year’s edition of the March for Life will take place on March 26, in more than 100 cities in Romania and the Republic of Moldova.
The March for Life has become a tradition during the last years and it has the support of the Romanian Patriarchate, and the blessing of His Beatitude Daniel, Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church.
The Students for Life Association, the initiator of the program, said that the message of this year’s theme ‘For life, for woman, for family’ is intended to draw attention on the alarming increase in the number of abortions.
The Romanian Orthodox Church permanently points out the importance of family and of the gift of human life, both for people and for the society. In the last years, family has been the most affected institution from a social, economic and moral point of view.
With the blessing of His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel, the Press Centre of the Romanian Patriarchate promoted the 2014 and 2016 editions of the event. This caused the annual doubling of the number of cities where the parade was organized and the increase in the number of participants, Mrs Alexandra Nadane, President of the Students for Life Association reports.
The Romanian Orthodox Church, by her mission, encourages adoption and constantly contributes to the material support of the families with many children and considers that the institution of family must be protected and respected.
The March for Life 2016, with the theme ‘For life, for woman, for family’, is organized by several Christian associations and NGOs from Romania and the Republic of Moldova.
