His Beatitude Daniel, Patriarch of Romania, consecrated on Thursday, 18 February 2016, the new headquarters of the Deanery of District 6, Bucharest. Along, with His Beatitude also served His Grace Timotei of Prahova, Assistant Bishop to the Archdiocese of Bucharest.
The priests from the 6th District of Bucharest, the staff of the Deanery, as well as representatives of the District Hall, the City Council, and the General Directorate of Social Assistance and Child Protection of District 6, participated at the event.
In His word, the Romanian Patriarch appreciated the quality of the works as well as the rapidity of their completion.
“We are joyful and we glorify God for all the works accomplished here in a relative short period, in two years time, with the help of the District Hall and the goodwill of those who have laboured here. It is a beautiful and encouraging work, a sign of hope, of communion and cooperation, and, of course, an example to be followed because fewer Deaneries have new headquarters. Therefore, we praise God and we congratulate both those who have laboured and those who have financed this project and we pray that the work that will be carried out here will be of a spiritual benefit and social encouragement”, His Beatitude Said.
Following the blessing service, Rev. Fr. Costel Burlacu, Archpriest of the Deanery, underlined the fact that this inauguration represents a great joy, but also an incentive for a fruitful pastoral, missionary and social activity.
Orders and awards
On this occasion, in sign of appreciation, the Patriarch of Romania granted different patriarchal awards to the persons involved in the edification of the new building.
At the end, His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel visited the Chapel of the multifunctional Health Center St. Nektarios.
